Editorial Reviews:

Push a button???not a vacuum cleaner???to get your house sparkling clean. The Roomba Discovery Robotic Vacuum senses, finds and eliminates dirt while automatically adjusting to any floor surface including carpet, wood, tile and linoleum. The round-shape vacuum goes where others can't like corners and edges then returns to its self-charging home base. The remote-control Roomba also features a bagless bin for mess-free emptying and has received the #1 CPR rating worldwide. Comes with wall mount.

Summary: Junk
Comment: Works ok on wood floors or thin carpet, when it works at all. Had to do a software upgrade, but even after that it fails regularly. The Problem? It only works if kept meticulously clean! Rather than spending time vacuuming the floor, I spend time cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Now, in spite of blasting it out with air from an air compressor (you do have one don't you?), it runs for 5 minutes the circles helplessly. I suppose if I could figure out how to take it apart, I could clean it yet again, but it's going in the trash this time. Yet another worthless piece of junk from an American Manufacturer (meaning made-in-china).

Summary: I love this little guy
Comment: When I bought it a year ago it was $350, but I don't feel like I want that extra money back since the price dropped. I'd pay that same price today. This thing is that good.

It's cute too. From the moment you turn it on for duty, it backs out of its base with that *beep beep* sound forklifts make - and it's off to the races...

It looks like its cruising haphazardly about the floor, but eventually it covers every inch of space while bumping its way around furniture and walls and dutifully navigating from room to room.

It's not perfect. It'll miss a few spots, but not terribly so. It's an efficient machine. Make sure you clean the brushes regularly and empty the tray about once a month and you're golden. My robot's battery can normally go for an hour and a half before it heads back to its base to rest. It's like having a pet that actually pulls its weight around here...

No kidding, I love this machine. If it was perfect, it would get 5 stars. You have to make sure there are no power wires or "indigestable" trinkets lying around or else it will choke and scream for help. But it's good enough. I often just cut it on and go to work. When I come back, the floors are clean. Aces!

Summary: Not suitable for new carpets
Comment: We just moved into a brand new home w/brand new carpeting and tried to use this. The new carpet sheds a lot and cloggs up the roomba. It's good on non carpeted surfaces especially in the kitchen to pick up the big dust bunnies and dirt. It is a bit difficult to clean the brushes. Also, the battery seems to be lasting less and less.

Summary: Supplier sucks
Comment: Unit arrived in a condition that makes me believe it was never refurbished. Totally dirty, would not work even after charging. I spent an additional $100 to buy a new battery and brushes. Will never buy from this seller again.

Summary: I threw it away
Comment: Roomba worked for 6 months and I tried to get a response from the website without luck. When I finally got someone to respond they said that the software was bad and I had to buy a new one and they would give me a discount. Warranty sucks. Customer service treats you like an idiot. Buy an upright vacuum sweeper.$200 down the drain. They have no facility to fix ones that do not work. You have to throw it out and buy another.
